TXS Radio – Programa "Jóvenes Estrellas" (Young Stars)

In the now-defunct program Jovenes Estrellas de la radio TXS plus, tI had the opportunity to talk about my research on cellular trafficking in ovarian cancer. My doctoral thesis focuses on understanding the causes of cisplatin resistance, one of the main drugs used in chemotherapy. During my participation in the International Course on Cell Biology and Cancer at the Curie Institute in France, I presented the progress of my work and shared experiences with researchers from various parts of the world.

Ovarian cancer is the eighth most common tumor in women and, unfortunately, is often diagnosed at advanced stages, which makes treatment more difficult. Although surgery and chemotherapy are the main therapeutic strategies, resistance to cisplatin remains a major challenge. My work aims to unravel the mechanisms behind this resistance in order to contribute to the development of more effective treatments. In addition, I believe that progress in the early detection of this type of cancer is crucial, as it could make a significant difference in survival rates.
